In this economy, the upfront cost of an efficiency upgrade or solar system is a barrier for a lot of homeowners. What if a community bank were willing to offer a loan for qualified homeowners for only 2%?  

LA County has arranged with Matadors Community Credit Union to make low-cost loans available to participants in Energy Upgrade California.  Participating Contractors have eligibility info and will help with the paperwork. Naturally, loan terms vary depending on the size and length of the loan, but there are no closing costs and you may borrow up to the full amount of the project.  The application packet is available for download.

Program Details:

• Residential, single family detached properties only.
• Energy efficiency projects must be enrolled in the Southern California Edison (SCE) and/or Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) Energy Upgrade California incentive program.
• Solar projects must be installed concurrently or after the installation of energy efficiency measures and must be enrolled in the California Solar Initiative (CSI).
• 2.0% interest rate is offered while funds are available.
